Colin's Photo

First off, let me say that this is about my adventure, not some potential adventure for you, so if that is what you are looking for then I'm sorry to disappoint.

Over a period of 18 months (starting roughly Oct 2005) I studied at three different european universities. This site was basically my way of keeping track of all of the things that I did and that happened to me in that time. I felt that such an incredibly distinctive time in my life required a different site than my former weblog.

I also hope to be able to display/share any of my work that I can during my studies here. Due to obvious academic reasons, I likely won't be sharing anything until after all the work for a particular course is complete. So it may be that only after a term will there be anything available. I never did get around to sharing anything like that, and in reality, there wasn't too much which was exciting enough to share.

About Colin Bate

I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on May 9, 1982 and have filled the time since being a book worm and computer geek. Moving to the east coast of Canada (Nova Scotia) when I was a baby, I was raised in the small community of Durham. I attended a rural yet largish high school nearby and graduated in 2000 at the top of my class. The decision to take computer science at university was fairly natural for me and I attended Dalhousie University graduating with my Bachelor of Computer Science in May of 2005.

After that I found myself in Europe taking an Advanced Masters of Science in Network and eBusiness Centred Computing through the European Commission's Erasmus Mundus scheme. The program took place over the course of 18 months and three universities in Europe. After that, I started moving around for work, but that story is best followed at colinbate.com.
